Christmas Tree Care – Simple tips
(1) When you get home, trim an inch or so off the base of the tree.
(2) Then place your tree in a bucket of water outside (or in your garage or shed if it’s wet outside), until you are ready to bring it indoors for decorating. By doing this, it will absorb water and keep the needles in good condition and fresh.
(3) Check the base is the right size for your tree. It is important that the tree does not dry out. Therefore, ensure that the base can hold water, and then top it up every day.
Think about where your tree is going to be situated. If decorating with electric lights, ensure that it is positioned near an electrical socket – trailing cables are best avoided. Position the tree away from the TV, sound system and any radiators as this will create a warm dry atmosphere which will dry the tree out. If you must put your tree near a heat source, then remember to make sure that it has plenty of water to prevent drying out.
By following these few steps, your tree will stay looking fresh and will last longer this Festive Season!
