Strawberry Tree

The Strawberry Tree (Arbutus Unedo) or also known ‘An Chaitne’ in Irish. It is an evergreen shrub or small tree is native to the Mediterranean – Spain, Portugal, south east France.

Often referred to as the “Eternal Tree” as it damaged stems are often replaced.  As a result, a single tree may last a long time.

The flowers of a this tree are white in colour and shaped like bells.
