Question

A friend of mine gave me this plant – see photo – it has green & purple leaves – however neither my friend or I know the name of this plant.  Also can cuttings from this plant grow new plants?

Answer

Your plant is called the Wandering Jew Plant. These plants require bright but indirect sunlight and it is important to keep the soil moist.  Place cuttings from the plant in water in a sunny place and roots should appear in a couple of weeks.
