Are you ready for Spring Planting?
It’s certainly looking very Spring-like now, and it’s time to think about getting bare root plants into the ground.
Bare Root Roses
We recommend planting bare root roses by mid March as they leaf early and are ready to grow.
We have Rosa Rugosa Alba (white) and Rosa Rugosa Rubra (pink) in stock at the moment.
These hardy hedging roses will provide great colour, and provide a good, impenetrable barrier in your garden.
Bare Root Hedging Plants
You can plant most other bare root hedging plants until mid-April.
Don’t wait too long before you order your hedging plants, as the more popular varieties sell out rather quickly!
Bare Root Trees & Bare Root Fruit Trees
Now is also the perfect time to get bare root trees into the ground. You’ll find a fantastic selection of bare root trees on our website – we have many types and varieties in-stock – flowering varieties, specimen varieties, and varieties that provide spectacular autumn colour.
We also have a great range of bare root fruit trees – apples, pears, cherries, plums, nectarines, peaches and hazelnuts! It’s a good idea to get your new fruit trees planted soon, so you can enjoy those first blossoms appearing. Remember to stake and tie your new trees with strong stakes and ties, they’ll really appreciate that helping hand to get established. Your young new trees will also benefit from a feed in those first months, so why not treat them to some top quality Irish organic poultry manure?
Now is the busiet time for bare root and delivery times may be extended, so bear with us.
You also can collect your orders from the garden centre as soon as they are made up. We recommend you call us to check if we have your chosen item in stock. If we have the product, we can put is aside for you to collect.
Summer Flowering Bulbs
Don’t forget to think about summer flowering bulbs – we have a super selection of bulbs in-stock at the moment.
If you start planting your bulbs into your borders and pots now, you will be in for a fabulous and colourful display this summer.
Plan your border carefully, and you can expect a great show from May through until October!!
