Carpinus – Hornbeam. Makes a fantastic hedge. Carpinus is a hardy native plant similar to green beech with mid-green leaves. It is suitable for heavy wet soils, and frost pockets. Shade tolerant .The hornbeam hedge retains brown foliage in winter, especially if pruned in late summer. Hornbeam 120-150CM – Plant: 25-45cm apart.
