Hazelnut ‘Webb’s Prize Cob’ is classified as a cobnut – cobnuts are a type of cultivated hazelnut that are usually larger than wild hazelnuts and sold fresh. In contrast, hazelnuts can be eaten raw or roasted. This variety produces sweet nuts that are ideal for eating. It is a small to medium-sized tree with green foliage and catkins in spring, followed by edible nuts in Autumn.
