Strelitzia Nicolai – White Bird of Paradise

This plant is commonly known as the ‘Giant White Bird of Paradise flower’ or ‘Wild Banana’ plant. This South African native has evergreen, banana plant-like leaves.  In time with the right conditions, it may occasionally produce a blue and white flowerhead. It makes a striking addition to your conservatory. It can also be grown in a sheltered, sunny border, though it will need to be brought indoors for winter. The White Bird of Paradise can take up to 5 years to produce its exotic flowers.
