Climbing Rose Iceberg
The Iceberg rose, also known as ‘Korbin’ or ‘Schneewittchen’ (German for Snow White), is a popular and widely cultivated climbing rose. This beautiful and versatile rose variety belongs to the Floribunda class, a category known for its prolific blooms.
Climbing Rose Iceberg posesses elegant and abundant clusters of pure white flowers. The blooms are medium-sized, typically around 2 to 3 inches in diameter, and have a classic, slightly cupped shape. While not as strongly scented as some other rose varieties, Iceberg does possess a delicate and pleasant fragrance. The light scent adds to the charm of the blooming clusters.
The dark green, glossy foliage serves as a striking backdrop to the pristine white flowers. The leaves are generally disease-resistant, adding to the overall health and vigour of the plant.
As a climbing rose, Iceberg can reach 3-3.5 metres, making it an excellent choice for vertical spaces like trellises, arbours, and fences. It can also be trained to grow horizontally along walls or other structures. This rose variety is known for its vigorous growth, producing long, flexible canes that are easy to train and shape according to your preferences.
One of the standout features of Iceberg is its ability to produce flowers continuously throughout the growing season, from late spring to the first frost. This trait makes it a favourite among gardeners who desire a garden filled with blooms for an extended period. Iceberg roses are generally hardy and disease-resistant, requiring relatively low maintenance. However, regular pruning can help maintain the shape, control size, and encourage optimal blooming.
