This clump-forming perennial features arching, narrow leaves that develop red hues in late summer that fade to brown. In late summer to early autumn, it produces showy, copper-red flower plumes that gradually turn silvery white as they mature. ‘Red Chief’ thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, reaching heights of 1.5 meters. It is valued for its hardiness, drought tolerance, and ability to provide year-round interest in gardens and landscapes.
