Rhododendron Yakushimanum Golden Torch
Belonging to the Rhododendron yakushimanum Evergreen Hybrids, Golden Torch is a stunning variety indeed! These hybrids boast compact growth, yet they produce large blooms and stunning foliage. Their late Spring flowers start as deeper hues in bud, unfolding into breathtaking shades influenced by their yakushimanum lineage. With its pink buds opening into circular trusses of bell-shaped pale yellow-cream flowers, Golden Torch doesn’t disappoint! Each truss or cluster has 13 to 15 blooms. from May until early June. Ideal for small gardens or container growth, provided their needs are met, they thrive in various conditions, even tolerating full sun and windy spots better than other rhododendrons. However, like their counterparts, they demand moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.
