Rhus aromatica ‘Gro-Low’, commonly known as Gro-Low Fragrant Sumac, is a low-growing deciduous shrub native to North America. It typically reaches heights of 60-80cm and spreads 2-3 meters wide, forming a dense ground cover. The plant is well-regarded for its aromatic foliage, which emits a pleasant fragrance when crushed. In spring, it produces small, inconspicuous yellow flowers, followed by clusters of red berries that attract wildlife. Its leaves turn vibrant shades of red, orange, and purple in autumn, adding seasonal interest. Rhus aromatica ‘Gro-Low’ is drought-tolerant, thrives in a variety of soil types, and is often used for erosion control on slopes and in naturalistic landscapes.
