Allium Purple Sensation

Allium Purple Sensation is a striking and popular ornamental plant that belongs to the Allium genus. It is renowned for its stunning display of deep purple, globe-shaped flower heads.  These flowers emerge in late spring to early summer, depending on the climate and location.

This particular allium variety has tall and elegant flower stalks that can reach heights of about 90-100 centimeters. At the top of each stem, a compact, spherical flower head consisting of numerous small star-shaped flowers tightly packed together creates a mesmerizing visual effect.

The individual flowers of Allium Purple Sensation are richly coloured in vibrant purple, hence its name, and they are set against dark green, strap-like leaves that add to the plant’s allure. The contrast between the purple blooms and the green foliage makes for a visually striking and eye-catching garden display.

This is a hardy and low-maintenance plant, making it a favourite among gardeners and landscaping enthusiasts. It thrives in well-draining soil and requires full sun to grow and bloom at its best. Aside from being a popular choice in garden borders, Allium Purple Sensation also makes an excellent cut flower, lending its captivating beauty to floral arrangements and bouquets.
