Allium Purple Sensation

Allium aflatunense, commonly known as “Purple Sensation,” is a striking bulbous perennial plant belonging to the genus Allium in the Amaryllidaceae family. Native to Central Asia, particularly the region of Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, it has gained popularity worldwide as an ornamental plant for its stunning spherical clusters of vivid purple flowers. These flowers bloom in late spring to early summer atop tall, sturdy stems, adding a burst of colour to gardens and landscapes. Allium aflatunense typically grows to a height of around 60-90 cm and prefers well-drained soil and full sunlight. It’s relatively low-maintenance and can thrive in various climates, making it a favourite choice for gardeners looking to add visual interest and charm to their outdoor spaces.

Height: 60-90CM. Plant 20CM apart, in well-drained soil in full sun. Flowers June- July.
