Allium sphaerocephalon

Allium sphaerocephalon, commonly known as the round-headed or drumstick allium, is a striking ornamental plant in the onion family. It features slender, grass-like leaves and distinctive, egg-shaped flower heads composed of densely packed, tiny magenta or burgundy flowers. These flower heads bloom in mid to late summer, rising atop tall, wiry stems that can reach up to 60-90 cm in height. The plant is hardy, drought-tolerant, and attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies. It is often used in borders, rock gardens, and as a cut flower in arrangements.ral arrangements.
