Colchicum Waterlily
Colchicum ‘Waterlily’ is a striking autumn-flowering bulb known for its dramatic, double pink-purple flowers similar to water lilies, from September to October. It’s ideal for naturalising in grass or at the front of a sunny border. The common names “meadow saffron” and “naked lady” are often applied to the entire species. The blooms, which can reach up to 10 cm in diameter, appear on naked stems, with the foliage emerging in the spring. The leaves are broad, green, and slightly glossy, dying back by early summer. This plant is often grown to provide late-season colour in gardens, particularly in rock gardens, borders, or naturalized areas. ‘Waterlily’ thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sun to partial shade.
Height: 12cm
