Eranthis hyemalis
Eranthis hyemalis, commonly known as winter aconite, is a small, herbaceous perennial plant that blooms early in the spring. It belongs to the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae) and is native to Europe. The plant features bright yellow, cup-shaped flowers that resemble buttercups, typically surrounded by a collar of green, leaf-like bracts. The flowers bloom close to the ground, often emerging through the snow, making it a striking early sign of spring. Winter aconite thrives in well-drained soil and partial shade and is often found in woodlands or garden borders. Flowers in Late January-March. Height: 10-13CM approx.
