Erythronium dens-canis Purple King
Erythronium dens-canis ‘Purple King’ is a beautiful spring-flowering plant, commonly known as the “Dog’s Tooth Violet.” This perennial features elegant, nodding, purple flowers with recurved petals, often marked with deeper purple or pink hues. The flowers rise above a rosette of distinctive, mottled leaves that have a marbled pattern of green and brown. ‘Purple King’ typically blooms in early to mid-spring, adding vibrant colour to woodland gardens or shaded areas. It thrives in well-drained, humus-rich soil and prefers partial to full shade, making it an excellent choice for naturalistic or woodland settings. Flowers in April-May. Height: 25CM approx.
