Tilia cordata, commonly known as the small-leaved lime, is a deciduous tree native to Europe and western Asia. It typically grows to heights of 20-30 meters with a broad, rounded crown. The tree is known for its heart-shaped, dark green leaves which turn yellow in autumn. Tilia cordata produces fragrant, pale yellow flowers in early summer that are highly attractive to bees, making it a valuable tree for honey production. The tree prefers moist, well-drained soils and is often found in parks, gardens, and along streets due to its aesthetic appeal and shade-providing canopy.
