Ilex altaclerensis ‘Golden King’. Ilex Golden King (female), is a small, bushy evergreen tree or shrub with slightly spiny leaves margined with bright yellow. Small, dull white flowers are followed by red berries. To guarantee berries, it is necessary to plant a male holly nearby –  eg. Ilex ‘Silver Queen’ (male).
