Amy and Blake
“This is a well-known painting by Jacques-Louis David: “The Farewell to Telemachus and Eucharis”. The two are crazy about each other, lots of feeling and very rock’n’roll. Once again, I created a story in my head to guide my work. I actually thought it was Amy Winehouse and Blake. She’s crazy about him, sad and in love, and he’s extremely distant. I’m telling you this because every time I create I tell myself stories. I believe that it is very important in the artistic process for a sincere and authentic work.” By Bénédicte Piccolillo
Metaphorical renaissance of a classicist masterpiece by Jacques-Louis David from 1818 in the allegorical interpretation of the French street artist Bénédicte Piccolillo with artistic craquelé antique patination.
