Anemone Single Bordeaux
Anemone Single Bordeaux is a member of the anemone coronaria group, commonly known as the poppy anemone or windflower, and is a charming and vibrant flowering plant belonging to the Ranunculaceae family. Native to the Mediterranean region, these herbaceous perennials are known for their striking, solitary flowers. This ‘Bordeaux’ variety has velvet-like, deep plum-coloured petals that form open bowl-shaped flowers, each with a rich purple eye, above the clumps of finely divided foliage
The plant’s deeply lobed, fern-like leaves form a low mound beneath the blossoms. With a moderate growth habit, these plants are often cultivated for their ornamental value, making them popular choices for flower borders, rock gardens, and container plantings.
While Anemone Single Bordeaux is relatively easy to grow, it prefers well-drained soil and a sunny to partially shaded location. The plant has been cultivated for centuries, and various cultivars and hybrids have been developed to enhance its beauty.
